The control of Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) requires a diverse set of tactics integrated into a single coherent strategy.

This course introduces you to the pathobiology of PRRSv, the principles of designing effective diagnostic testing programs, how to establish herd and system goals for PRRS management, and the advantages and disadvantages of available tools for PRRSv control and elimination.  All of this is delivered in the context of applying cost-effective PRRS management strategies on swine farms.  

An online course for graduate academic credit is also available that covers the management of swine respiratory disease (SRD) and includes the application of the management principles of SRD to real-world cases that walk through how to assess the economic trade-offs of various management strategies. 

This is a self-paced course. You may start and finish the course at any time. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be granted one hour of continuing education (CE). College of Veterinary Medicine is an authorized CE provider, and our courses are equivalent to RACE-approved. This course is expected to take two hours to complete.
