When we think about biosecurity systems, we're talking about how we prevent novel pathogens from moving into a farm. And when we're designing that biosecurity system, what are the primary tools at our disposal?

There are many routes for pathogens to enter the farm. There are animals, people, supplies, transportation equipment, wild animals, insects, removal of deadstock, feed, and that's probably not even the complete list. As we think about stopping transmission along each of those routes, that means we have to have a mitigation strategy for each one. To perform mitigation, we have to build a system of procedural and physical barriers that require continuous implementation to achieve success.
